Slow Burn into Recovery
This class is for those bravely finding recovery from drugs, alcohol, gambling, any addictions, a life loss or traumatic event. As we overcome life’s challenges, yoga gives us the opportunity to come together, to connect, and to heal. Hosted in a warm room, students will have the opportunity to find quiet meditation or to join in movement at any time during the class. Beginning with pranayama or breath control techniques, we will build a foundation for our practice. After a few Sun Salutations to create heat and rhythm in the body, we will move through a sequence of standing postures that are held for several breaths, emphasizing mindfulness and internal strength. The class will cool things down finding gentle Yin stretches for the last 15-20 minutes and sink into a deep meditative savasana. This class is donation based and maintains anonymity (No need to sign up!).
